Drying and Curing
Drying and Curing
As inks and coatings in the industry continue to evolve, the processes for drying and curing is critical to your success. Printco engineers will evaluate your process and determine the best solution for the application. We specialize in drying solutions for the converting of paper, film, foil and non-woven substrates. Our custom drying solutions will ensure that the final portion of your process meets your requirements. Some of the great options for drying and curing include:
HOT AIR IMPINGEMENT
Our forced-air drying system is designed with ease of use in mind. The tunnel dryer has many time saving options such as retraction, removable nozzles, external bearings, manual or automated web thread up, driven tunnel rolls and individual or multiple zones. The between colors dryers are designed removable nozzles, flow adjustment and individual or multiples zones.
IR DRYING
IR drying has many advantages over other methods and provide a great option for customers with limited space. The technology is specifically designed to dry water-based inks, coatings and adhesives within a shorter dwell time. Some other advantages include uniform heating across the web, individual zoning, much faster uptime and downtime, smaller footprint, programmable touchscreen and adaptive dryer control.
UV CURE
UV inks provide durable long-lasting print to a wide variety of products. Because UV inks cure when exposed to light they dry much faster resulting in a sharper and more vibrant image. Perhaps the greatest advantage is the ability to print on almost any non-absorbing product including glass, metal and plastic. UV inks do not contain VOC’s making this product much more environmentally friendly while also creating a safer work experience. The curing system typically requires a smaller footprint than conventional drying and is easily retrofitted into existing lines. Whether it’s a new application or an existing line, Printco’s engineering team is available to assist with your needs.
